Who I am
A full-stack developer with an unusual path, carpentry and electronics before computer science, and the fields I care about.
Hello, I'm Yannis, a full-stack web developer. My career path is quite unique because before turning to computer science, I studied carpentry and electronics. These fields allowed me to discover what I really wanted: to become a web developer.
Early beginnings
I started learning programming at the age of 13 through OpenClassrooms (formerly "le Site du Zéro"). The courses there enabled me to create my first websites. I also learned C, batch scripting and Java, and continued with PHP and MySQL. Gradually I broadened my skills, discovered new languages and decided on my orientation.
Further education and specialization
During my previous training I took a particular interest in information security and in other languages such as Ruby, JavaScript and Node.js, as well as the Linux environment, mostly through platforms like Udemy and OpenClassrooms.
In September 2019 I joined a BTS SIO with a focus on SLAM (web development), which allowed me to learn C# and Python, and to deepen my understanding of HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL, as well as database modelling and design.
Practical experience
Throughout this time I completed numerous small projects in various languages to enhance my skills and prepare for future client requests.
Where I am now
I graduated as an engineer from CPE Lyon in 2024, in computer science and cybersecurity, after an apprenticeship at Sogeti. A year rebuilding an embedded network appliance at Sheltercom followed, and since the end of 2025 I work at Hozzway as an AI software developer: fullstack Python and React, and the job of turning AI models into systems that people actually use.
Fields of interest
Artificial intelligence and the engineering around it, backend systems, infrastructure and DevOps, information security, and, on my own time, game engines and the odd measurement journal.
